Les revenants de Midlake

Eric Pulido explique que « Les paroles de ce titre sont nées d’un documentaire que nous avons vu montrant Dave Chandler (le père de Jesse) à 16 ans, assis dans la foule de Woodstock en 1969. Dave est décédé il y a quelques années dans des circonstances tragiques et j’ai décidé d’écrire cette chanson de son point de vue avec un message de paix, en retournant dans cet endroit si spécial ».
Brantley Gutierez qui a réalisé le clip ajoute, « lorsque Midlake m’a approché pour réaliser la vidéo de ‘Bethel Woods’, je savais que je voulais faire quelque chose sur une histoire de fantômes. Jouer avec l’idée de retourner dans un lieu chargé de souvenirs. Le concept d’attachement émotionnel aux personnes et aux souvenirs de ces lieux. Travailler avec le très talentueux Michael Peña a été un plaisir absolu ; il a apporté au personnage quelque chose d’honnête et d’attachant. »
